Band Information 2010-2011
Welcome Back! I am looking forward to another great year!
Instrumental lessons are offered to grades 4th-8th. The instrumental lessons that we offer are for flute, clarinet, saxophone, trumpet, french horn, trombone and baritone.
Making a decision on what instrument to play can be difficult, but I would suggest that your child make their choice based on the sound of the instrument that they like best. By the time that you have received this notice your child will have already had a demonstration of the instruments that I teach.
Please note that there will be an important band meeting in the cafeteria on Back to School Night. At this time, I will go into further detail about our upcoming year. I encourage you all to attend; this will be your opportunity to ask any questions you may have.

Band rehearsal time: Thursdays, 3:00 -4:00 PM (beginners 3:00-3:30)
Jazz Band rehearsal time: Tuesdays, 3:00-4:00 PM

INSTRUMENT RENTAL:
I have been in contact with a music store called Zestwicks, based in Reading, PA. They are a family run business that makes things easier on families by traveling to the schools to pick up and drop off instruments. Please see the additional flyer located in the communications envelope, about Zestwicks Music Store.

BOOK:
I will place an order for books. Once you receive your book, you will see a charge on your ICS monthly billing statement. Average cost: $6

BAND FEES:
Group lessons- $10.00 per lesson
Band Fee- $40.00 per school year per student.
This is a one time fee for ALL students in the Band and also will be billed via your monthly ICS statement.
*NOTE: Participation in band requires enrollment in lessons either at I.C.S.
or elsewhere.

PAYMENT SCHEDULE:
As explained in the Financial Commitment letter this summer, we will bill for music lessons via your ICS monthly statement. Lessons will be billed in blocks of ten (10) or $100.00. As your child starts lesson number 11, 21, etc., an additional $100.00 will be charged to your account. Payment for instrumental lessons can coincide with the timing of your tuition payments but must be paid in full by April 30, 2011. For all items billed via the tuition invoice (i.e., band fee, music books, lessons) one check, made payable to ICS, is acceptable and preferred.
